CSD Audio – Back to its roots

A lot of people ask me… “What does CSD stand for?”
Originally I started out as Custom Speaker Designs. I designed and built tons of crazy loud subwoofer enclosures, and other custom speaker cabinets. I changed the name to CSD Audio when i started to offer a full line of home theater & car audio electronics and installation services.

This project I just completed took me back to the old days… when people really wanted it LOUD! Starting with loudspeaker performance modeling software, I get with the customer, discuss his or her musical tastes and goals, and begin to design a speaker system to match. Every custom design I create is one-off for that particular person and boy this thing got busy! If you’ve never heard Rick Astle’s “Never Gonna Give You Up’ at 145 decibels… you haven’t lived!

Jeff’s Basement Theater

Jeff had a small, odd shaped room in his basement that was used to store his junk. He decided it was time to make some better use of the space and we designed an amazing home theater system to repurpose the space. The equipment for the theater was housed in an adjoining room so we selected a universal touch screen remote with RF expansion pack for easy control. A Pioneer receiver, Toshiba Blu-Ray player were placed in an equipment rack along with satellite tv tuner. Polk speakers were mounted on the wall and a 12″ subwoofer for low frequency effects. Two levels of reclining theater seating allow a great view of the 103″ screen for everyone in the room. This formally unused space is now everyone’s favorite room in the home!

Bill’s Theater & Distributed Audio

Bill bought this amazing home in Draper which had already been prewired for distributed audio and a dedicated theater room by the previous owner. CSD Audio added 24 speakers in several rooms throughout the home and added keypads with LCD screens to remotely control the iPod & other music sources located in the media closet in the basement.

The theater room received In wall speakers flanking a 123″ screen and 2 pair of surround speakers in the ceiling. A 1080p projector provides stunning video and a 15″ subwoofer fills the room with deep, impactful bass.

Preston’s Sports Zone

Preston had an old 40″ rear projection big screen built into a custom entertainment center. After many years of service, it was finally time to upgrade to a full HD video experience. Preston loves sports and we designed a system that would allow him to watch multiple games at the same time. We shoehorned a 46″ mitsubishi LED TV and two 19″ LCD TVs into the space where a single 40″ once lived. Three different games can be watched at any given time, and should the action from one of the smaller TVs get particulary intense, a single button can be pressed to bring it up on the main screen. Never miss a single second of action with your own SportsZone!
